Quiet overnight on Core / ESPHome / Z2M / Z-Wave tags after Monday’s HAOS 18.3 catch-up. Soft lead today: Supervisor 2026.09.3 (17 Sep), missed while Core and OS dominated the rail — app-container capability drops and Supervisor API gating. Calendar: Open Home Foundation team meetup in Lisbon tomorrow evening.

Supervisor 2026.09.3 — app capability drops, API gating while starting
What happened: Tag 2026.09.3 published 2026-09-17T13:47:09Z — same Thursday as HAOS 18.3, but it never got its own rail while Core 2026.9.3 and the OS release filled the briefs. From the GitHub notes:
Feature flags to drop NET_RAW, plus MKNOD, AUDIT_WRITE, and SETFCAP, from app (add-on) containers
Block start / restart / rebuild / update APIs while Supervisor is not fully running
Don’t leave rejected AppArmor profile files in the store directory
Keep !secret references when persisting app options
Why it matters: Capability drops harden what apps can do on the host. API gating cuts racey start/update calls during Supervisor boot. If you run HAOS, this rides the usual Supervisor update channel — distinct from Monday’s OS 18.3 story.
What happened: Open Home Foundation hosts a free in-person gathering Wednesday, 23 September 2026, from 7:00 PM at Impact Hub Penha da França (Rua Neves Ferreira 13, 3rd floor, Lisbon). Luma lists the full crew plus commercial partners and community; registration required, spots limited, swag promised.
Why it matters: Calendar item for anyone in or near Lisbon this week — not a product release, but the only annual all-hands-style room for the foundation, partners, and local community.
What happened: No 18.4 (or newer RC) overnight. Monday’s lead — ha docker reset-storage, Yellow mini-UART Bluetooth fix, RPi HDMI / USB-SSD repairs — remains the current stable OS tag.

What happened: No new Aqara calendar overnight. FP400 remains on sale worldwide after the 16 Sep availability push. Matter caveat unchanged — third-party Thread joins expose overall presence + illuminance; do not assume full zone export.
Tapo Matter cameras — end-of-September window closing
What happened: Still no new TP-Link calendar confirmation. HW revisions of C560WS, C260, and C660 Kit for Matter camera code remain framed as end of September — with eight days left in the month, the window is closing, not locked.
